S. V. Ranganayakulu, Dean
S.V. Ranganayakulu is currently working as Dean (R&D), in Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus(Autonomous). He holds M.Sc (Physics) in Electronics as specialization, M.Phil (Physics) in the area of Liquid Crystals Displays (LCD) from Andhra University and Ph. D. in the area of Applied Ultrasonics from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He also holds NDT-Level II certification awarded by ASNDT. He has twenty seven years of teaching as well as administrative experience at postgraduate and undergraduate level at various institutions. He guided thirty two M.Phil Scholars and eight P.G. projects and is presently guiding sixPh.D scholars. He has to his credit fifty threeresearch papers in international and national journals. He presented fifty seven research papers in National and International conferences. He is editorial board member in National and International Journals.
He is a Fellow of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Acoustical Society of India(ASI) and Ultrasonic Society of India(USI). He also served as the member of Board of Studies in Post- graduation department of Electronics and P. G. Diploma in Instrumentation in AcharyaNagarjuna University for eight years. He delivered several invited and keynote talks in International and National conferences. He has executed three R&D projects in the area of Non Destructive Testing and Evaluation:
The first project is entitled “NDT Evaluation of Aerospace Materials” sanctioned by AICTE under Research Promotion Scheme; The second project entitled “Establishment of Acoustic Emission Technique for Quality assurance of SS Materials and other NDT Methods” sanctioned by BRFST under the department of Atomic Energy as a part of Nuclear Fusion Program; The third project entitled “Ultrasonic Investigation studies of Nano fluids” sanctioned by UGC-SERO under Minor Research Project program. He has been awarded with “Research Excellence” award by Indus Foundation for extensive contribution in research and development. He published 4 text books, filed five patents and industrial design as a part of Intellectual Property Rights(IPR). In the year 2016 an industrial design (No.268427) under IPR has been granted by Controller of Design, Indian patent office, Calcutta.
Research at GNI has always been given the pride of place, be it in the domain of teaching students or the professional goals of the members of staff. Research is a precursor to discovery and innovation. We at GNI design, architect, build, develop ideas, train the minds, challenge the thoughts and stretch possibilities.
With the creation of interdisciplinary centers of excellence, there is continuity in research activities ensuring study progress towards the project goals. These centers of excellence have facilitated healthy ambience for research-both in terms of infrastructure and scholastics, exposed to advanced trends in science and technology and sponsored projects have always been a source of innovation and practicality.
The Research and Development cell receives inputs from various industries and funding agencies like UGC,AICTE,DST,DAE as the involvement of these sectors is essential at all the stages of research and development. To enrich the learning process and skillset among the students and members of staff, we host seminars, conferences, workshops, FDPs inviting eminent experts from academia and industries in collaboration with government funding agencies and professional bodies.
Research and Development cell inculcates the spirit and culture of research among all stake holders. It establishes links with various R&D organizations, funding agencies or venture capitalists for filing patents, product development, for obtaining sponsored and contract research projects at national and international levels.
