The Department of EEE from GNITC and GNIT has organized a two day International Conference on Innovations in Electricals and Electronic Engineering (ICIEEE2015) on 21st and 22nd of August 2015. The second International Conference held successfully and many aspirants, researchers, academicians made the event a grand success and fulfilled the motto of the conference and exchanged ideas of Innovations in Electrical engineering.
As a curtain raiser of the conference, a two day pre conference was arranged for the students on 21st by Mr. Mahesh, Assistant Divisional Engineer, TSSPDCL on the safety measures to be implemented in the installation of electrical equipment and day to day operations of electrical components and preventive measures under electrical shorts and hazards and on 22nd by Dr. Chandra Sekhar, Scientist, BDL, Hyderabad on importance and applications of embedded systems in Electrical engineering. An alluring response has received for the preconference tutorials with about 500 students from GNI and other institutions.
More than 120 participants have send their papers for the conference ICIEEE 2015 in the areas of Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Systems, Power System protection and stability, Electronics and Communications. Out of 120 papers, 83 papers were scrutinized in three phases i.e., subject experts, plagiarism check and by publisher and selected for presentation in four technical sessions and published in conference proceedings with ISBN.
The chief guest Dr. B.V. Reddy, Professor, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Canada under his keynote focused on the essentiality and requirements of Innovations and emphasized on the importance of Electrical Engineering and its applications to the modern world in the areas of generation and utilization of non-conventional sources of energy for a better tomorrow and released the conference proceedings. Dr. M. Surya Kalavathi, Professor of Electrical Engineering, JNTUH, Hyderabad has addressed the participants and delegates about the importance of renewable energy sources in power generation. Dr. H.S. Saini, MD, GNI and conference Chair informed all the members about the opportunities in Electrical Engineering and improvement of knowledge by conduction of conferences and workshops at GNI.
The day started by presentation of papers in two sessions chaired by Dr. M. Surya Kalavathi and by Dr. Vishwanath and concluded by finalizing the best paper of each session.
The next day i.e., on 22nd August 2015 started with another two sessions chaired by Dr. Manjunatha Chari and Dr. Chandra Sekhar.
During the valedictory function, Dr. Praveen Nirgude, Associate Director, CPRI, Hyderabad addressed the students on Innovations in Electrical Engineering and utilization of the conferences and workshops for the development of the nation.
Prof P. Parthasarathi, AD, GNI in his speech emphasized on the recent trends in the Electrical Engineering and the motive behind organizing such conferences at GNI.
