Cyber Security (CS) : The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security) was established in the year 2020-21, offering under graduate program with the annual intake 120 students. The laboratories of the department are well equipped with advanced and sophisticated instruments, to fully satisfy the training needs of the students. A pre-placement training program and add-on courses (over and above the syllabi) from tie ups and MOUs with industries is in place and accommodated along with the class work from second year onwards. The Department has four State-of-the-Art Computer Laboratories each with 66 Compaq Dual Core systems of high-end configuration and Wi-fi connectivity. There are three high end servers of HP PROLIANT series used for JNTU online exam in addition to a Window server and Linux server catering to the intranet and web needs.
The department aims at working on consultancy-based projects from industry. The department strives to build a highly motivated R&D team in collaboration with some of the top research based organizations. The research could be implemented as fund based projects from government/ private industry. The department has tied up with professional bodies like IEEE, CSI, ISTE and built professional student chapters.
To be a premier Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the field of Cyber Security by providing high quality Education, Research and Employability to enable graduates to be ethical, competent professionals and become entrepreneurs.

Dr. Ch. Subba Lakshmi, is working as Professor & HOD of CSE- Cyber Security & CSE- Data Science, Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus (Autonomous).
She did her MCA from Osmania University in the year of 2001, M. Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering from JNTU, Hyderabad. She obtained her Ph. D in Computer Science & Engineering in the domain of Data Mining and Soft Computing from K L University, Guntur Dist., Andhra Pradesh in 2017. She worked as an Asst. Dean R&D during 2008 – 2022 in GNITC. She is a BOS chairman for department of CSE- Cyber Security & Data Science and BOS member for Department of Computer Science & Engineering. She has coordinated various academic activities and accreditation works like NBA, NAAC and others. She has guided 15 research oriented projects for Post Graduate and Graduate students. She has published 20 research papers in reputed Scopus/SCI/UGC indexed International Journals and presented 07 research papers in International Conferences. She attended and conducted government-funded short-term courses, Faculty Development Programs (FDP’s), seminars, workshops and delivered expert lectures in the domain of Computer Science. She has filed/published 6 patents in Indian patent office journal and one patent in International. She guided students through 35 mini and 36 major projects on Big Data, Data Mining, Java and .Net technologies for UG (B. Tech.) and PG (MCA/M. Tech.) on various applications. She worked as a convener for six series of International conference ICICSE organized by GNI.

The department runs an undergraduate program inComputer Science Engineering- Cyber Security. The department vision is to be excellence in value based on Engineering Education.
The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty. The department strives to impart knowledge and training to students in latest technologies. The objective of the department is to prepare students for a successful career in Industry, Research and Academics to meet the needs of growing technology. Our efforts are to develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to product design. The department provides an opportunity for students to work as a team member or as a project leader on multidisciplinary projects. It provides students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and to prepare them for higher studies as well as research. We promote student awareness for life-long learning and to introduce them to professional ethics and codes.
