Overview:

Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus - School of Engineering was formed with merger of Guru Nanak Engineering College and Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering and Technology. The school of Engineering now has Eight UG courses in Engineering (Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, IT) and six PG courses (DECS,DCES, CSE, IT, Software Engineering, Thermal Engineering) with an intake of 1128 students.

Guru Nanak Engineering College was one of the premier institutions in Andhra Pradesh, started in the year 2001 by Guru Nanak Educational Society under the Chairmanship of Philanthropist Sardar Tavinder Singh Kohli. The college started with an intake of 240 students and four engineering branches (CSE, ECE, EEE and IT). The college gained popularity as GNEC. GNEC is the only one Sikh minority institution in Andhra Pradesh with a sole objective to uplift the Sikh community and also the neighborhood. In its 12 years journey, 5 Engineering programmes were accredited by NBA and the institution is accredited by NAAC. The Institution is also ISO 9001 certified.

Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering and Technology started in the year 2008 with an intake of 300 students in five branches.

The School of engineering is now a family of about 550 teaching and non teaching staff and more than 4000 students. The campus has state of art laboratories, e-seminar halls, e-class rooms, departmental library in every department. The central library of the institute houses 60000 volumes of books, under 12900 titles, digital library, Internet browsing center, subscription of more than 314 national/ international journals and 231 E-journals includes IEEE & DelNet. The college is also proud of 600 capacity AC indoor auditorium, 3000 capacity open auditorium 125KVA of power back up generators. The campus is also proud of its infrastructure in terms of buildings, labs, 750 students capacity canteen, stationary shop, dispensary, student activity centre, Play grounds, well furnished 400 capacity boys and 200 capacity girls hostel. The campus is equipped with 50 luxury busses, covering all parts of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Every branch has excellence centers with research laboratories at least in one or two specializations. Eminent persons from industry, Research Laboratories and Universities are invited to deliver the guest lecturers in latest technological developments in industry and research areas. All departments regularly conducts International, national conferences, self supported and AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programmes and also provides value added programmes for students during the vacation period.

Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus continuously strives to enrich the knowledge of the students and also moulds the students to suit to the needs of the industry and provides a platform for placements in all MNCs and core companies. Our Training and Placement department is organized on corporate structure providing the training to the students in soft skills and aptitude skills apart from the core technical skills. Special classes GATE classes are conducted for students to excel in academics to become research scholars and also get the jobs in Government organizations. Our training partner M/s. Skill matters provides continuous trains the students from 2nd year onwards.

The campus was visited by more than 50 companies to recruit the students. The college is also has tie up with JKC, to provide training to students. The placement record of the college in exemplary.

Faculty Development Programmes are regular feature by the departments to improve the teaching skills of the faculty. Yearly FDP for faculty in general trains the faculty in teaching methodology, communications skills and other soft skills to be confident teacher. The institution also has a tie up with JKC, IUCEE and WIPRO Mission10X to provide training for staff.

Apart from curriculum, the students are generally given training to organize student’s level competitive events, sports, cultural and extracurricular competitions activities. To cater to the needs of the society are students actively participate in social activities through NSS. Students are also members of various clubs like Electronics, Photography, litrary, software club and short films making club.

Every year, the institution organizes Techfest (paper and poster presentations) and Innovations (Project presentations) to provide the platform to students to compete with other college students for their academic growth and exhibit their technical skills, presentation skills, communication skills to improve their personality and employability.
